Positive: We stayed for 5 nights and had the best stay at Domain de la Citerne! The property is beautiful and very relaxing and the hosts are wonderful. Breakfast by the pool each morning was a real highlight.

Positive: An exquisite property in a convenient location about 45 mins drive to Cassis and the Cote d'Azure. On arrival you are mesmerised by the long regal driveway bordered with beautiful trees as you approach the impeccably restored French maison. All stone and shutters , sweeping stairwells and even a water well out front. The gardens and pool area are definitely the highlights. All lovingly maintained with high end furniture and decor. The views from the front terrace were simply breathtaking so we spent most evenings enjoying a wine whilst the sun set over the mountains beyond. The breakfast and breakfast room in the pool house was very impressive. Fresh cakes and pastries and fruit and tea and coffee. You could order eggs done in whichever way you desired and the owners were very accommodating and just friendly enough without smothering you.
Negative: The entry foyer to the bedrooms was a large and sterile area with little thought given to cosy French ambiance, it felt a bit bland and echoey. Maybe some more appealing furniture so you felt like relaxing in there. The guest kitchen was fairly well equipped and perhaps necessary as it was a drive into Nans Le Pins but there was very limited restaurant choices and it lacked a vibe / terribly quiet but a good supermarket. The hosts did recommend restaurants but they were all a good distance away, not great if you want to enjoy the local wine on offer. The rooms themselves were very small and though well appointed, a little modern and bland for my liking. It was a very hot day on arrival and the room had a large portable air conditioner going which was incredibly noisey and took up a lot of space in an already small room. Luckily it cooled down at night as you would be unable to sleep with the noise. Not very welcoming or relaxing. Unfortunately you are not able to spend time in the gorgeous pool area after 7 pm which was a bit disappointing given the foyer area near the kitchen / rooms was fairly unwelcoming. We were happy to sit outside at the front though and enjoy the exquisite views. We loved the owners gorgeous dog Mila but be warned if you are not comfortable with large dogs ( other guests were there with their rather unruly hound) then perhaps reconsider. You did feel at times that you were encroaching on their own family time and space with little kids wandering about at breakfast time and dogs as well.
Summary: Exquisite French Home with impressive views and 5 star outdoor spaces and fabulous breakfast.
